Apply Online for Owner-Builder Financing
Sources for Owner-Builders
Traditional sources for construction loans like banks and mortage companies often require that projects be managed by a licensed general contractor. However, many of our customers want to act as their own general contractor or even do part of the construction themselves. Fortunately, some well-known national lenders like MidCountry Bank, IndyMac Bank, Countrywide Financial, and BuildMax provide flexible loan programs for owner-builders.
MidCountry Bank
Several of our customers have found that MidCountry Bank (headquarters in Minnesota) offers some very attractive loan products and services. Among their advantages are:
- Competitive Rates: MidCountry's rates match or beat most other sources
- Construction-to-Permanent Loan Packages: You'll have one application and one closing
- Complete Project Financing: MidCountry may finance your entire project, including land
- Owner-Builder Loans: MidCountry doesn't require a licensed contractor
- Sweat-Equity Program: MidCountry may count your valuable labor as a down payment
